It's a TREK Alpha SL of some description.

    Full?id=3973902

    Shimano 105 fitted

Anyone able to identify the model no. ? Or age of the model?

What's a fair price for it?

It looks like a trek 1400. As for the age, anybodys guess.

Going by the picture it looks like it could be a 2006 Trek 1500. You can see the specs in their archive http://www.trekbikes.com/uk/en/bikes/2006/archive/1500

I dont think its worth what hes looking for in his add tho.

    Thanks, well spotted.

What is a fair price for such a bike? What would one be looking at, in the event of parts needing to be replaced?

Worst case is busted shifters which would set you back about €200 for a set of new Tiagra 9sp. Sora would be cheaper but worse.

No idea what it's worth. Maybe €250-300 if it all works.

Possibly a 2006 Trek 1400, I had a 06 1500 which came with full Ultegra. Not sure if a 58 cm Trek would fit someone 5' 8" tall though (as mentioned in the ad).

Worth is one thing... value is another. If it all works and the condition is good I would get 450 for it any day of the week. If anything is broken, especially the shifters, all bets are off.
