India will see its inaugural Formula One Grand Prix on October 30, 2011, in a 20-race calendar which will see the same amount of 12 teams as in the current season, the ruling body FIA said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Indian race, on the Jaypee Group Circuit some 50 kilometres from the capital New Delhi, is slated as the 18th season race, pending FIA homologation.
The 2011 campaign season starts again in Bahrain on March 13 and ends in Brazil as in 2008 on November 27. The 2009 and 2010 seasons end in Abu Dhabi, which is now the penultimate race next year.
The FIA World Council also said that there will be no additional 13th team because 'none of the candidates met the requirements to be granted an entry into the Championship.'

Well hopefully no teams drop out between now and next season, would be nice to see the three new teams make a step forward for next year. Wonder were the requirements for the 13th team set out clearly enough that it was a black and white decision not to let them compete

Ferrari decision should be interesting later on

I think Lotus especially look good for the future. Will HRT be there next season? I have my doubts.

They gave a driver information, they didn't tell him to do anything.

They exploited a flaw that was purposely left in the rules(in my opinion) to allow for team orders. The ban on team orders has always been a joke.
Hopefully the review will recommend getting rid of the stupid team order rule.

They found them guilty of braking the rules (confirmed the stewards decision), they just haven't been given any punishment with regards to points. Just seems a bit weak from the FIA

Is having a 20 race, 8 month season making a bit of a mockery of all the cost cutting and budget restrictions they were talking about last year?

Isnt having those extra races just going to push up the operating costs for the teams regardless?
