iTunes sorting issue - any suggestions?

I've just recently started using iTunes, and I'm in the process of listing my current albums. I'm a complete newbie with this, so these questions may be really simple, but I'm stumped!

I have my view set up "As Grid", with my "Sort Albums" as "Artist", "Ascending" and "By Year".

When I'm dealing with a 2 CD album, I've been listing that as two albums,
e.g. Depeche Mode, The Singles '86-'98, listed as CD1 and CD2, hence two album covers.

Do I have to do this, or can I have all the tracks in one album cover, but seperated as CD1 and CD2?

When I'm transferring a re-released album, that has an added "Bonus CD", how can I keep the year released accurate, but keep the CDs listed side-by-side?
(This may be fixed by knowing how to do the first issue!).
An example is: The Cure - Album: Faith, originally released in 1981, but was re-released as a "Deluxe Edition" in 2005 with an added CD of live tracks and rarities.

When I list these the Faith album is listed separately to the Bonus CD, as the years are different.

    Any ideas?

When you hilight a song/album and right click,
    1. Click on 'Get Info'
    2. In the new box titled 'Multipal Item Information' in the Info tab there's various input fields
    3. The top right there's the Year; Track Number; Disc Number which can all be filled out to give you extra sorting and information.

    1. Fill in the disc number for each (or group of) songs i.e. 1 of 2 for all songs on disc 1 and then 2 of 2 for disc 2 etc.
    2. When finished click 'Ok'
    3. Hilight all songs from all CDs on the main screen (Hold 'Shift' and use the arrow keys)
    4. again right click - Get Info - Info Tab
    5. click in the Album Field ( which should be empty because you're editing multipal album info)
    6. Type the name of the album minus the CD1/CD2 at the end (ie make 'Depeche Mode The Singles '86-'98 CD1' to just 'Depeche Mode The Singles '86-'98')
    7. Click Ok and it should colate the 2 albums into one

Extra note: If you follow the second set of steps above from 1 to 4 and click on different tabs you can change everything including album covers etc in bulk

I hope you can use this, once you do it 3 times it becomes second nature, and by all means PM for any finer points or questio

I knew about the "Get Info" bit - but was delighted to read about colating multiple albums together.

Simples - when you know how!

    Much appreciated :D
