Lay cock ups on Betfair

I'm just interested to see if anyone has had the same experience as me when laying teams during play on Betfair. It happened tonight and is the second time in a week that I've been stung. With Scotland looking really bad tonight I'd previously backed them at 1.27 expecting a decent win but later found myself looking to lay at 2.77. The price was fairly erratic so my lay went unmatched so I just said fùck it and cancelled it. Needless to say I nearly jumped through the ceiling when Scotland scored a last minute goal and thought the day had been saved. I went back to look at my account statement and low and behold, the lay had gone through and tore a hole through my profits. I've been steadily building my bank at between 5 and 10% per week and this is the second time I've been set back 3 weeks in the space of 2. Did I mess up twice or is my lay being taken up milliseconds before I click cancel? (I did click it). I'm getting pretty annoyed with this. Rant over.

i have had the same happen to me on the horses were you go to cancel and it seems to go on anyway not sure why

Got it sorted by downloading Betfair Rapid where you can have the option to cancel lays the second the aren't matched.
