Hi thanks for reply. Machine is f**ked, unfortunatly. Bareings gone. Sounds like a bag of hammers. Think a new buy is needed although I have got almost 8 years from this machine,,fault free.

Any ideas what is a good machine to get these days? Mam swears by hoover washing machines,I'm willing to invest in a decent one.

Friend of mine has a beko said she finds it great?

hoover machines nowadays are not the same as the ones your mother had unfortunatly -they have great features on them but the build quality is crap -

go for an entry level or mid range bosch ,will far outlast most on the market at the moment

Yeah bosch was mentioned to me a few times. Bit expensive but i suppose you get what you pay for.
If it gives me 8 years like the siemens one did i'd be a happy lady:D

    thanks for the advice

As kinghted said, wouldn't advise Hoover. I for one am a huge fan of the Beko machines, particularly the newer models. The 7227 or the 8227 are great machines, and nowhere near the price of a Bosch.

@ Greetings I agree with you Most other appliances in my kitchen are Beko never had any problems with any of the appliances(touch wood)
I think it''s worth investing in a good washing machine though,it gets used a lot in my house
