    As I’m in the process of getting my gear together to start playing airsoft I’m curious what the average age of an airsofter is? I’m guessing it varies quite a lot.

    I'd estimate late 30's going on 5. :D

    Err, why does it matter?
    Some of the best players I've seen have either been quite young or (as described above) 'old farts'.
    That said, I'd say that the majority of players are in the middle - maybe 20 to 40. Also, age profile varies depending on the time of year - school being out equals more school age players etc.

    He was just asking out of curiosity.

    From my couple of times airsofting I've noticed a lot of kids but I assume it's different mid week or maybe it was just the site I go to...

    What Despot means is taht why does age matter? How the person plays is what's important. Not their age.

    I know age doesn't matter but I think the OP was just interested in knowing, like someone might be interested in knowing what guns people use. ;)

    Although if it were me, I'd prefer to go airsofting with people around my age. Easier to chat with I think.

    Please don’t get me wrong, it’s not that important to me I was just simply curious. I play Rugby and enjoy Trackdays in Mondello and you get a great variation in age in both which is great but I have never played Airsoft before I just wanted to know.

    @Vonluck you understand me LOL.

    Exactly and what i hate to see is people talking down to younger players. Makes my blood boil.

    At the end of the day we are all big ( some small ) kids that play soldiers. In the mind we are all pretty similar. Don't judge a book by its cover ;)

    What I hate happening is when a younger experienced airsoft player tries to tell a new airsofter what to do as in tactics for the next game or something along those lines and because the person is much younger they completely ignore them.

    Ive had it happen to me where these people who were skirmishing for their first time kept taking their masks off during play and I told them to keep em on until youre in the safezone and they told me to f off since I was much younger (luckily the marshal kept a close eye on them after that).

    Yip - there are a couple of younger players out at HRTA who put the rest of us to shame - tactically they're smart about how they play and fitness wise they're just able to be everywhere at once, legging it like lunatics all day, long after I've died a death of a pie induced coronary!
    Lordhogo - you're right - I judge someone on whether or not they're up to it, not whether or not they're 18, 25 or 50!
