When I turn the switch in my hot press to heat the immersion for the hot water so we can have a bath, it takes about 5 hours to heat up, and we would be lucky enough just about to fill the bath up. anything I do or maybe need to change ?

How big is your tank, how old is the unit, are you in a particularly hard water area?

Any chance you are just turning on the sink (smaller) element? or that the larger on of kaput?
