I have an annoying buzz from the speaker on my iP4 since I got it. I called into the 3 store in Liffey Valley to ask about getting it fixed and the guy gave me a flyer for Fonemenders.ie and told me to give it in to them. Has anyone used these guys before? Would you recommend them or would I be better sending it to Apple?

    Thanks.

No doubt these guys can fix it.
But my advice send to Apple, you might get a new one or get this fixed and that will be quicker.

I personally wouldn't let fonemenders at anything more technical than a sweeping brush, never mind an iPhone. Speak to Apple.

Okay, gonna send it home to Apple and let them repair it. Went on Apple.ie and started filling out the service request forms but it's saying that a payment will be required and on the address page it asks if this is also the billing address.

    WTF!

Just went on through the process and it's asking me for a card to charge €210 for the service! On a one month old phone! Tell me they're having a laugh. Please?

i just tried it and it didn't ask me for anything. Are you sure you clicked on the correct button for whther you believe its covered under warranty i.e. not liquid damaged?

Yep, just did it again and same result. It's hardly to do with the serial number of the phone is it? A month old phone couldn't be out of warranty surely, even if it was manufactured a few weeks previous.

No, can't be out of warranty. Best bet is to ring Apple tomorrow and they'll set it up for you, or at least find out why is is asking for money.
