Legal advice - tennancy eviction

I am currently renting a room from my landlord. He lives in the house and we had agreed rent. I have been living here for 8weeks and pay my rent weekly in advance with four weeks rent.

Last week I asked him would it be alright for my girlfriend to move in and he agreed on the provision I increase the rent by 70% I agreed and paid the new following weeks rent.
However two days in he rang me up (I am in work at the moment) and said when I get home I must move out tonight.

His reasoning for this is as follows.
    1. He realises the room is too small for two people
    2. My girlfriend took a full mirror from an unused from another unused room in the house to do her make-up as there is none in our room. She agreed straight away to give the mirror back
    3. We ate dinner last night and cleaned up after but apparently two pots weren’t sufficiently clean.

I believe the real reason for him wanting us out is that his brother and his brothers wife are coming to stay next week and he wants that room.

He said he will give me my weeks rent back and my full deposit back.
Surely this cannot be legal evicting someone on such short notice and also for such flimsy reasons?
