Bike for a day?

    Hi Guys,

    Wondering if you can help...

My boyfriends dad will be 50 in January and when he was younger (before my bf was born and his dad traded the bike for a car) he was big into motorbikes. Really we (and his family) would love to be able to buy him a nice bike for his bday but, alas, we cannot afford it :(

However we had an idea....you know the way you can get those 'Big Day Out' things like driving racecars at a track for a day?? We were wondering is there any equivalent with motorbikes? This would at least allow him to relive his youth for a day!!

Any help or suggestions much appreciated :)

I haven't heard of any that match what your asking, but I'm poorly informed so have hope.

Do you know if he has a bike license? You might be able to just rent something. You could also get him a bike lesson and explain the situation to the instructor; they could give him a training bike (~250cc) and take him for a long enough spin.

Maybe give these guys a call: http://www.aaronridertraining.com/

    Great idea.

You can get him a voucher for some training, usually. He can get himself a license etc in the meantime. It'll give him a thirst for it all again, I can assure you.

Find out if he still has a license to ride a bike and if he does you can rent one from these guys.

My dad is 75 and still rides his Fazer 600 all the time. If your BF's family loved their dad at all they'd buy him a nice Ducati Monster...
