Samsung Galaxy S Battery

Last night around 2am I went to bed and phone had ~80% battery life - I didn't plug in to charge, have an app that disables wireless, gps, bluetooth during night hours.

At 7 my old phone alarm went off, no alarm from Galaxy S. Tried to check time. Phone dead.

Do I need to disable mobile data connection at night to keep battery from emptying from apps checking internet for updates?

How long are others getting from a full charge and what connections do you use, etc. wireless, bluetooth?

Once data or wifi is running its hard to get more than a few hours out of these things. I turn mine off at night & leave connected to charger whenever I'm driving.

Do the alarms still go off when phone is turned off?

I leave mine on charging overnight, it wont damage the battery.
I leave on everything during the day, data etc, turn nothing off.
I surf a couple of hours during the day.
It keeps going from 6am till I throw it on charge at bout 10pm.

Apparently there are newer firmwares where users are getting over 48 hours.
I did find that the battery needed to be completely drained, then fully charged a few times to get the best out of the battery.

Ah that might be it, I only got on saturday. I'll run it down this evening, and this weekend.

    Great phone otherwise.

Is there a standard way of turning 3G data off. I've got an app today that does it, but haven't seen any other option.
