    Hi all

I know this is here somewhere, but from what I remember its in a graphic so not searchable...

I'm looking for the Spur Hill settings so I can manually tune in my USB stick (mythtv)... Can someone please enlighten me with the following:

    Frequency: 666000000
    Bandwidth: 8MHz?
    FEC: 3/4?
    Mod: QAM8? 16?
    Transmission Mode: 2k?
    Guard Interval: 1/32?
    Hierarchy: None?

    Thanks in advance....!

not one person who has replied to my post ,as given me the answer to the question.
an update on free view signal around the sandyford/leopardstown area.
what channels muxes are they pulling in etc . how strong are there signals .
when i say freeview ,its the uk freeview.
so come on lads , these are the things we need to know and let everybody also know. i've got myself a new aerial a 92 element wideband,
my group A was no use getting nothing, was also using 34 element and was picking up very constant channel 41 and 45. i'm off work today. wife not home .getting up on roof to change 34 to 92 element ,will let you all know how i get on. but people in dublin area need to update any info they a have.

    It's not 92 element. That's marketing.

Make & Model and I'll tell you it's real gain and real number of elements.

    (This is wrong thread though).

You should be able to set most of the values to AUTO.
    See here

There is a windows program which tells you this information also, I think it's called DVBStreamExplorer.

    yes. I've used DVBStreamExplorer.

It's also pretty useless SW that expects you to only enter DVB transmission parameters manually. Linux has progressed beyond that.

This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks. My DVB-S card works perfectly, Mythtv scanned the DVB-T card and said "16 possible channels found" but won't pick up any of them, so I was just wanting to see if I could do a manual scan myself.

    Thanks Bob!

You can't really have high gain and wideband. Well not nearly as much gain as you'd get with a proper high gain grouped aerial. Let us know the make and model of the aerial. What sort of mast have you got it on?

    sorry watty and 12 element
don't know how my thread got here, was wondering why i could not see in the sandyford / leopardstown up date.
anyway i bought it in maplins.
on the box is says 91 element high gain digital tv aerial
the only possiable name i could see was on the corner of the box was NIKKAI.
    hope this can help

    maplin own brand.

It's similar gain to an 18 or 21 element Aerial. It's not really 91 elements. The closest Blake Aerial is a SR18W (which is likely more robust, but sadly local shops don't sell them).
About 15dB at Group C, 11 to 13dB Group B and D and likely down to 9dB at Group A. Wideband Yagi aerials are usually about 6dB worse in Group A

The Maplin aerials apart from the "one for all" stuff is better than Argos/Homebase or B&Q generally.

CPC stock them with next day delivery. Got my Blake Gp. A from them.

Hmm don't do grouped versions of SR10, SR13 or SR18
    I only find SR18W

The DMX is to complete with "fancy" looking aerials marketed on "more spiky bits is better" syndrome.

The SR range is far better and more robust.

My fancy spiky DMX has had no problems since I installed it on an exposed west facing gable end wall over two years ago. It has survived storm and snow here in the mid-west without problem. I consider it a robust aerial but I guess our definition differs (maybe we should have a Aerial Robustness Standard ;))

On the technical side it's also a CAI Standard 1 Benchmarked aerial pulling in Mullaghanish (Gp.A) and Woodcock Hill (Gp. B) DTT side on.

No. ALL the Blake's are good. The DMX is better than UNIX100 and x10 better than the Argos bacofoil.

The SR is maybe just a bit more robust (and cheaper) :)

The DMX is still a fine aerial.
