    Hey folks,
myself and few others(6 people max) are thinking of organizing a trip to Kili next year, but would like to do it for charity. Has anyone any experience in this- need to get a few ideas going. How much money would we need to be raising ect?? What is better, going through a company or booking it ourselves.. Any tips appreciated.

Just a personal opinion, and not having a go at you at all, but I think collecting for these things makes punters suspect that they are really just sponsoring a whole holiday, flights, hotel etc.

If you're going anyway but also want to do something good, maybe just get everyone going to chip in an extra 200 or so and give that on to a charity?

Again not knocking you OP but have to agree with Conor74, why not contact an aid agency working in the area and say, look we're heading down to climb Kilimanjaro next year and want to do some charity work while we are there.

Did this a few weeks ago for a charity. costs are in the area of about 2500-3000 depending on flights, hotels, tour agency etc. We had to raise 5200 each so about 2000-2500 went to the projects out there.

Defo do some actual charity work if you do head out there.

If you need any advice give me a shout. It's a big committment especially the fund raising.
