Just spotted that SCAE are running a latte art comp and a coffee cupping comp during shop 2010 at the RDS later this month.

Just wondering if there are any boards members entered and what the opinion is on whether the event is worth attending?

I know 3 people competing and one Judge.

I will be there on one of the days. I just havent decided which day yet.

Personally Im not a big fan of "Shop" but at least the SCAE makes it a little bearable.

looks like you can get free entry easy enough by registering for the event - thought the cupping and latte art might be fun to watch.

There are concerns about the competition itself even being run. Apparently there is little interest in it by competitors.

Cupping has been postponed till February.

Is the cupping comp open to anyone?

it is indeed - as all the competitions are - there is an entry fee though...

I was going to skip the event, but I have my pass printed and I see there will be some cheese tasting/awards that can hopefully make up for the lack of coffee geeks :D

It was a good competition, not great numbers entering but good overall.

Congratulations to Jordan from 3FE who won.
