TNA Impact Results For 9/16/10. Remember, Impact is NOT airing on 9/9.
    Dark Match:
*Jesse Neal pinned a name I didn't catch in a tryout.
    Impact:
*Impact opens with Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy in the ring. Eric Bischoff and his assistant come to the ring. Bischoff gives congratulations to Ken Anderson for winning at No Surrender before putting over both Angle and Hardy for their match at the PPV. The crowd starts a "That was awesome" chant. Bischoff announces a Three-Way match for the TNA title at Bound for Glory but Dixie Carter overrules him and announces Angle vs. Hardy in a no time limit rematch for later tonight with the winner wrestling Anderson at BFG.
*Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash with Sting and Jeff Jarrett at ringside ends up a double countout as all four brawl outside the ring. Security finally separates them.
*Backstage, Madison Rayne tells Lacey Von Erich to get dressed as they have a tag bout later.
*Jay Lethal pinned Douglas Williams to capture the TNA X-Division championship. Post-match, TNA sets off orange and white and confetti in the ring. Lethal celebrates in the crowd.
*TNA Knockouts Tag Team champions Hamada & Taylor Wilde defeated Madison Rayne and Lacey Von Erich. Tara and Rayne attacked Lacey for losing but Angelina Love and Velvet Sky made the save and Lacey left with them.
*Tommy Dreamer comes out alone and says EV2.0 aren't here tonight and he's here alone. He calls out Fortune. Fortune come out in suits. Dreamer says he told his friends to stay home because he's tired of seeing his friends getting hurt and he's calling for a truce. Tommy puts over Fortune as a group, then puts over each member of Fortune one by one. Dreamer says he got Kaz his job in WWE, but Kaz left as he was unhappy and went on to meet his wife in TNA. Dreamer put over Matt Morgan and said he wrestled Bobby Roode in Roode's WWE tryout match but Roode turned down the job to stick with TNA. He called Ric Flair the "Ultimate hardcore person" and says the day Flair retires for good will be the saddest day in wrestling history. Dreamer then put over AJ Styles and said Styles is the best performer in wrestling today. He offers Styles his hand and says that if the situation was reversed last night, Dreamer would have done the same thing to him. Styles begins putting over Dreamer and the original ECW. Styles then said that if Dreamer was ECW and Dreamer wants to show him respect, Styles doesn't need his endorsement and Fortune attacks Dreamer. Brian Kendrick hit the ring and was laid out as well as he tried to protect Dreamer. Security hit the ring and Styles told Dreamer that if he wants his damn truce, now he can have it. Fortune walked off.
*Brian Kendrick took the mic and challenged anyone from Fortune to fight him right now. Matt Morgan took him up on the offer for an impromptu match....
*Brian Kendrick pinned Matt Morgan. Morgan demands the match be started over and struck from the record books but Kendrick doesn't return.
*Backstage, Abyss is torturing and branding people backstage with a branding iron. He screams "10/10/10" over and over.
*Generation Me come out and cut a promo saying the TNA Tag Team championships are supposed to be defended every 30 days but after what they did to Alex Shelley, there's no way that will happen. They demand Chris Sabin come out and hand them the tag team belts. Sabin hits the ring and attacks them but is overwhelmed and laid out.
*Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Hardy is a long match. Ken Anderson comes out to do commentary. Brian Hebner is bumped accidentally so Earl Hebner comes out to referee. Brian eventually recovers and there is a double pin. The referees argue over who won, so they watch an instant replay and there's no clear cut winner. Bischoff announces the Three-Way match for Bound for Glory. Angle and Hardy hug.

What is it with TNA giving away PPV matches for free, and this one was even no time limit so it was a better match!

    the mind boggles!

Well they did make people pay for it at No Surrender.

im enjoying TNA these days, its a nice change from wwe. I got sky sports back there last week (special deal) and watched my first Raw since the start of summer and I thought it was dull and boring tbh

I'm starting to really dislike the fans that attend impact.

They make it out that any time there are two wrestlers are in the ring they had the single greatest match ever and wrestling fans may aswell not even bother watching anymore because nothing will be any better.

Well they did make people pay for it at No Surrender.

yeah thats what i mean, they only have a small % of really loyal fans who are willing to buy these ppv's so why punish them by giving the same thing away for free the next night?!

Probably cause about 19 people pay for events headlined by wwe midcarders Mr.Anderson and Dinero.Lets be honest no one here would pay to watch that if they'd the option. Its the "Creative" department anyone who says any different is delusional like Dixie.

But that's the very reason they give it away on TV because nobody buys the PPV's.

I think Pope and Anderson have both proved beyond all doubt this year that they have limitless star potential if they were ever pushed properly. It's a bit ridiculous to knock them for being midcarders in WWE, does that mean WWE were wrong to push Austin, Guerrero, Foley and HHH because they were WCW midcarders?

Surely you`ve noticed that tna only pushes ex wwe/wcw/ecw wrestlers they had AJ Styles wrestling wwe cast off Dreamer wwe would do that to a guy as punishment. All those you mentioned earned their push in wwe besides Angle the rest of the wwe tribute band haven`t earned a push in tna.

Erm, wasn't Anderson one half of the best match in TNA this year and hasn't Pope been one of TNA's most consistently entertaining characters. I'm sick of this 'TNA should only push the homegrown guys' argument because it's ridiculous. It's about finding a balance and pushing the guys who you think are the best for the job - which I think TNA are doing a pretty good job of with The Guns and Fortune. And in case you missed it every one of TNA's champions currently are homegrown:

i have to agree with this! i think WWE dropped the ball with pope, and the only reason anderson didnt make it to the main even scene properly is down to orton bitchin about them and anderson f*ckin up himself....he was mr money in the bank with a great year ahead of him and was set to be vince's son! would have been a monster push!!

Plus they have an actual reason to feud with The Guns rather than just random matches which should help elevate the feud. I'm looking forward to Angle/Hardy tonight.

This show reached a new level of stupidity for me.

    Several horrendous segments on it.

If Tommy Dreamer never cuts another promo in his life then I'll be a happy man. Remember when people use to complain about Triple H cutting a 15 minute promo at the start of Raw every week that achieved nothing. Well this is what the Tommy Dreamer promo was. He came out. PUT OVER THE HEELS AS GREAT GUYS. HAD THE CROWD CHEERING THE HEELS. This was after he asked the heels for a TRUCE. I kid you not. The babyface asked the heels for a truce. So after Dreamer does his big promo and STARTS CRYING AGAIN he gets beat down by the heels. Nobody in the crowd cared at all. Why should they? Dreamer had just made the crowd love them. Just think about it for a second. Dreamer cut a crying promo and no one cared. He also was made to look a fool for saying that he told EV2.0 to stay at home. This dork was so stupid that he never fathomed that the bad guys wouldn't accept his truce and beat him down. Again, what a fool.

It didn't end there though. Out runs Brian Kendrick who tries to make the save for Dreamer. Yes that's right Brian Kendrick, perennial mid-card jobbing geek loser. Kendrick then cuts the least coherent promo ever talking about stupid stuff which I can't even remember. He challenges someone from Fortune to come down and face him. Out comes Morgan wearing a suit, who just beats Kendrick stupid for a few minutes and then Kendrick gets the win out of nowhere. He does what every babyface in TNA does and runs away. Morgan then did a semi decent promo where he said that the match didn't count cause he was wearing a suit. I did like this bit but it was less than 1% of the entire segment. What this was meant to achieve is beyond me. After it was over I just thought who could possibly care about this? Not me anyway.

The other segment that reached new levels of stupidity was Abyss backstage BRANDING ANOTHER HUMAN BEING WITH A BRANDING IRON. I'm not even going to bother describing this, other than to say that it was stupid and insulted my intelligence. I would hate for anybody who doesn't watch wrestling to see this cause they would think we are so stupid for watching this. So right after this scene out of Hostel we cut back to Tenay and Tazz, who DON'T SEEM TO GIVE A **** THAT SOMEONE HAS JUST BEEN TORTURED AND BRANDED BACKSTAGE. They are pretty much back to laughing, smiling and joking. And we give Michael Cole **** every week. At least he tries to get the product over a bit. They go to an interview with Rob Van Dam who cuts a happy go lucky promo. Last time we saw him he was drowning in his own blood after being murdered with a board and nails and here he is saying the same **** that he says in every other RVD promo. It's like he was trying to make everybody forget that the last time we saw him we were meant to believe that he was close to death. No need to worry folks. He's fine and dandy and can't wait to get back next week. He barely seemed interested in getting the title that he never lost back. Way to put over the World Title people.

I can't wait until 'their WrestleMania' Bound For Glory does the same amount of buys as every other PPV that they do. When you do **** as stupid as this you deserve everything you get.

I thought that was a very simple and effective segment (if admittedly a little long). Dreamer builds Fortune, pours his heart out and admits that they are better than him and calls for a truce because he sick of himself and his friends being beaten up but the heels beat him up and get heat for it. It easily sets up a reason for EV 2 to continue fighting despite being beaten at No Surrender and gets some heat on Fortune.

Just didn't do anything for me.

I know the idea was to get sympathy for the babyface who wanted a truce but got beaten up but that's not how it ended up to me. He got the crowd to cheer the bad guys and then when they attacked him most of the crowd seemed impartial. To me they didn't care that Tommy was getting beaten up. Why should they? He just spent the last 15 minutes telling them what great and cool people the bad guys are.

Agree with you there Machismo thought it was a good segment but a tad long then when AJ turned on him was hilarious also thought when Brian Kendrick came out to save him was a nice touch then the beating he took off Matt Morgan just to win with a kick even though it was stupid I liked it.
Highlight of the night was the fact that Hogan wasn't there:D so there was no 20 minute segment at the start with Hogan spouting some crap about how TNA is launching into the stratosphere.

Just watched Impact, thought it was a really good show, only problem is that I don't have Reaction so I missed the end of the Angle/Hardy match, so thanks for the report at the start of the thread. Exactly how long did that match go on for then?

Impact was my fave show last week.

Lol you are 100% right about Hogan going OTT for way too long. I also hate when he or Bishoff or Dixie tell wrestlers how great they are or what an awesome match they had last week for 20 minutes. Noone cares, stick to the wrestling TNA. Leave the promos to people who don't make you want to change channel instantly. Anderson is great on the mic, he deserves a big push.

My favourite Impact bit ever (because I only watched it for a few weeks) was when Bischoff and Hogan came out to the ring. Hogan did his usual routine for a few minutes while Bischoff and his secretary stood there. When Hogan was finished, Bischoff just said "It never gets old..."

    :D

God I hate it when bischoff/dixie blow smoke up the wrestlers ars3s.

Only the Pope / Anderson / Ric Flair and Jay Lethal should be allowed anywhere the mic they can cut a great promo.
