Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Hi guys,
    I have someone wanting to look into their family tree. I have done google searches and what not, but I dont really know where to start. I realise just putting the persons name in to google wont be fruitful, so I'm just looking for a bit of direction, anything helpful at all.
    Where to start etc.
    The person looking doesnt have contact with other family members, so is only going off what they already know.

    hi if you have a date of birth its easier but if you try thr 1901 -1911 census its pretty handy you just type in their name and where they lived at the time it will be more fruitful that google search :)
