Do you need to know Irish.......?

    I'm Irish but have never had to learn it or sit any state exams for it as i have an exemption from it.

    So could i join the Garda and not have to know Irish?

    Your question is already answered in the Forum FAQ at the top of the page. It's the thread marked *** Read before posting***

    You need 2 subjects at least one to include Irish or English so no, you don't necessarily need Irish, however Irish is a subject you would need to study in Templemore.

    Please familiarise yourself with the FAQ and the Forum Charter of this forum.
