Brought my van to annesley motors in ballybough few weeks ago to get repaired. Having given them 500 quid thought it was going to be fixed only to drive it off and have the same problem. The guy said to bring it in again which i did but only a few weeks later. The guy said it would cost an extra 700 quid to fix another problem before getting to the problem i first had.. All they could say was the first problem had to be fixed to get fixing the original problem.

I ended up leaving to without either problem fixed. As they are VW dealers I thought they would of been a bit more professional. This thread is being created because I think i have been ripped off or robbed. The guy with glasses was arrogant and pretended he knew what he was talking.

This whole ordeal was not only a class example of rip off dublin but even iin hte recession they still have the nerve to rip you off as well as con you. Plus mechanics in Anneslly motors are crap.

So my advice is stay well away from Annesley motors!!!!!!!

Have you taken any steps to get your money refunded or get the van repaired gratis?

Anyway, I think this is better suited to the Motors forum.

What were the symptoms of the issue and what did they repair?

Have you made a complaint to Annesley yet and do you plan on doing so?

so i was told that you had not tkaen the vanback straight away you ended up having a second problem which was the inter cooler has gone in the van. The original problem was that the vanwas cutting out while you would be driving. They said they had fixed it but it was still cutting out minutes later.
I couldnt bring it back right away because i needed it for work so this is there reason for saying they couldnt fix it until they fixed the inter cooler which was gone and that needed to be fixed before finding out what was causing the cutting out. All a load of crap because they obviously didnt know what was wrong with the first problem or they would of fixed it. My guess they didnt want to be laboured with a van the soecond time and spend any more time trying to fix it when they knew they werent going tobe paid thats all. So make up a cock and bull story This is about decency and professional service and Annesley motors think they can just palm you off with this dribble so to save them the hastle of lost labour when they are only on 3 days a week as the head mechanic said .
I was too busy at the time to worry about doing something about it but now i obviously have time to let people know they ve done.

I would suggest that you first contact the dealer principal and discuss your grievance with them.
If that doesn't meet your expectations then go to a solicitor.

As of from Yesterday Annesley motors got the plug pulled by the bank. Its a pity as they have been around 60 years or so. Its the last 2 years that the mentioned staff member has given cock and bull dribble stories to the decent public ripping them Off. I have seen this first hand and watched the slow fall of this Co. Your gonna get nowhere now with them but in future dont take crap. If they cant fix it or give a reasonable answer to what might be causing it you should nt be charged 500 quid to plug in computer and drive around the block.
Just so you know i Do not work for them, i just provide a service to them.

I suppose between now and the end of the year the closures will be made, those which havn't performed during the sales peaks at the start of the year will be closed as the banks will see no future for them.

Annesley Motors had the majority of their franchises pulled from them a while back anyway. I'd say it was hard to survive on the sale of just commercial vehicles alone, particularly in this economic climate.

There will definitely be more closures. Industry is still running top heavy with too many dealers competing for the small numbers of new cars being sold.

Apparently, there is a big annoucement due during the week from a large dealer somewhere in Ireland. Hopefully its not a bad one.
