So last year we set up an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) channel for the firsties to get to know each other.

Since I haven't seen anything similar this year I figured I'd throw it out there again.
It's at #dcufreshers on Quakenet for those of you who know what that means.

For those that don't, there's a web-based chat program here. You can go there, enter your nickname (Your boards one would make it easy for us to know who we're talking to) and enter "#dcufreshers" for the channel.
Assuming nothing goes wrong you'll connect and can chat.

Ended up being pretty busy last year and a lot of us ended up meeting up in orientation week for drunken shenanigans, so it's a nice way to get to know people.

Oh yeah; cheers for that last year Pygmalion - I was one of us/them back then.

But yeah people it's a bit of craic and helps break the ice with all your new friends in college, and maybe you'll get lucky with one or two of them being in your class/course, like I had.

Someone should create a society that does this sort of thing.
