Was on the N7/M7 earlier leaving the city. Mental! Water cleared up a bit after newbridge though i thought. & i wont bitch about half the cars with no lights, other half with fulls & fogs blaring. :)

Yep.. amount of clowns on the N/M3 this evening with no/minimal lights on in very poor visibility was ridiculous.

N7 from Newlands to Naas this evening was a disaster. I was passing a van near Citywest when it must have driven into some serious surface water - absolute zero visibility for around 3 seconds. Got the fright of my life but luckily there was a good amount of space in front and behind me.

Well he is highlighting a problem with the newer motorways that have very bad drainage that can cause some very dodgy moments. In the very heavy rain that we had today I can only imagine how much worse the problem is.

A few months ago the motorway from Galway was saturated when I was heading home. Just great big puddles and no place for the water to go, quickly anyway.

On the M7 tonight and conditions were poor .

In the flow of traffic in the outside lane and left about 4/5 car lenghts between myself and the car in front but had a guy behind me in a blue 01 Astra that was sitting that close I couldnt see his bonnet. He then tried to go past on the left but just got caught in slower traffic

    Bloody Idiot

Sur the council have it under control...didn't you see the electronic billboards saying "road liable to flooding"

Joke: When's a motorway not a motorway, when it's a dual carriageway of course.
but yeah there are quite a few bad spots on the N7 where even a shower tends to flood one or two lanes or even all three when very heavy. Though to be fair I haven't come across any standing water on any sections of the M7 or M9 motorways, just loads of spray.
