Has anyone done the Broad Curriculum cross faculty or language module? What's the workload like? I'm just wondering because I intend on doing Schols and would it not be advisable to do both?

Surely, it's another module, and in fairness the workload does seem to be quite consistent accross modules... If you're intending on sitting schols then surely it'd be no problem to you!
Also, double check you can actually take one, they sent us out an email and we're not eligible for it...

Quality of the language modules can vary significantly from class to class. I didn't do it as BC, but I did it as an optional extra when I studied Science.

When I did it, at least, it was a two-hour class per week, and assignments that were usually another two. Attendance was so bad that once I was the only student there and was told to just "work on your assignment" for the two hours. Bleh.

I recommend doing a cross-faculty course instead - they can be more interesting, and you can still do a language module as extra-curricular if you want. Though I don't recommend doing both in a Schols year. :)

It's technically the same workload either way (as BC replaces an existing class), but you should check that the replaced class isn't on the Schol papers. If it is, you'll either need to not take that paper/question or take the class.

Also, have a read through the Schols information thread on this forum, it has loads of advice and is a good place to ask questions.
