    Hi there,

Does anyone know when the various strands in Project maths kick in? Will Strands 1 & 2 be examined in Leaving Cert 2011 or 2012? When will Strands 3 & 4 be examined for the first time?

    - from an over-anxious mother!

    In the 24 pilot schools:
    • Strands 1 & 2 at Leaving Cert were examined in 2010,
    • Strands 1, 2, 3, & 4 will be examined in 2011,
    • All five strands will be examined in 2012 and thereafter.

In all other schools in the country:
    • Strands 1 & 2 at Leaving Cert will be examined in 2012,
    • Strands 1, 2, 3, & 4 will be examined in 2013,
    • All five strands will be examined in 2014 and thereafter.

Thanks a million - that's really helpful - couldn't find that info from the Dept. of Ed. websites

    No problem.

There's a picture of the timeline for Project Maths (the rollout to all other schools at both Junior and Leaving Cert) towards the bottom of this page:

That's the website of the official support service, by the way.
