Just wondering if anyone has any experience of moving a horse to the UK.

A friend of mine is bringing their horse across and is looking for best options.

If anyone has used a service and could recommend it, please post here or drop me a PM.

    Many thanks.

There were one or two threads on transporting horses in the past:

Some companies have been mentioned (and recommended) so maybe your friend could use them as a starting point, give them a ring and see what they think.

I know friends of mine competed once or twice in the UK and transported the horses themselves. They had a lorry, so it made life easier, and they also brought friends' ponies with them, which would have helped with the costs. It's about ten years ago since they did this, so I don't know how the costs would compare and how much regulations, etc. would have changed since then.

Maybe somebody else has transported horses recently and could give you a better insight into it, and be able to give better advice.
