There is a certain irony about being lectured on emigration by an immigrant. (Karlin is not Irish.) However it is the usual fluff and filler stuff that is the staple content of the Irish Times technology section. There's a human cost of emigration - the families that are broken up; the grandparents who rarely see their grandchildren; the children who rarely see their cousins and grandparents. But we mere Irish do not matter to Fianna Fail and the Greens. Fianna Fail's stranglehold on Irish politics depends on Irish people leaving the country.
