Anyone else having trouble using their US iTunes account?

Today and yesterday when I log into my US iTunes account to download a free app I find that I can get into the store but when I go to purchase something and click install the confirmation box where you enter your password has the email address associated my Irish account. So the result is a message telling me that I can't purchase this as it's not in the Irish store.

Anyone else finding the same? Not being able to use theY'D store would be a real loss I think.:(

Just log out and then log back in with the US account.

Yeah Ive done that Vinny, and it loads fine in the US store but when I want to confirm that I want to install a free app by entering my password it will only offer me my Irish account email login, not my US one , even though that's what I have logged in as.

I just used my US account with no problems. Try logging out and on again

    Thank you both.
I tried logging in and out several times over the weekend and it did nothing to resolve the problem. Tried it tonight and it worked as normal! :)
Phew , I do like my free US apps . :)

    1. Launch iTunes
    2. Log out of your account
    3. Scroll down the iTunes page and hit the flag on the right
    4. Select your country of interest
    5. Try to buy a random FREE app
    6. iTunes will ask you for your credentials, hit open a new account
    7. Accept the terms
    8. Enter a valid email, pick a password and so on. Hit next
    9. Select “none” as the payment method. Then fill in the form with some random address in the country you picked (Google maps is your friend)
For the US for example, you might want to use Jobs’ home address: 432 Santa Rita Ave*Palo Alto, CA 94301. Phone number:*818-3039483
    10. Finalize & click the validation link in your email

You cannot register your credit card on US itunes as they require a US card. You can take as many free apps as you like but if you want to buy something you need to buy US itunes vouchers on ebay . You could have a friend in the US buy them for you either.

Do you need to switch between your Irish/US account on your iDevice in order to use the apps downloaded through each account?

No. You only need to switch iTunes on the desktop when you want to sync the app from a different account. Once on the iDevice, they work seamlessly, as if they all originated from the same account. If you download the apps from iTunes on the iDevice, then obviously you need to switch to the relevant account at purchase time, but not after installation.

However there's no "none" payment option in either iTunes 9 or 10

    What to do?

If you just try to create a new account it's not there but if you try to get a free app while not logged in it will prompt you to log in or create a new account.
The None option is only available if you get to the create account page this way.

I made one this way for a relative last week.
