Fees, fees, fees..

Right. I was in Trinity last year doing science. Ended up hating it, dropping out halfway through.. my tutor guaranteed I would only have to pay half of my fees, and the rest of my tuition would be free as normal.

I haven't had any bill or anything yet. I sent my FRS2 form over a week ago. That's not what I'm worried about.

My fees including registration should only come to about 3765 or something (as only half my fees were claimed last year). But when I check on the epay website and put in my number it's telling me I owe over 5000 euro. Which naturally, my bank loan I just got won't cover.

I didn't get the bottom half of the FRS2 form filled because I was in TCD last year, so I thought THEY had to do that. Plus I had no way of getting to Dublin and I was away all of last week. I rang the fees office today and he said once I had my previous student number, current CAO number, and Trinity College Dublin in the college space, I'd be fine. Also, I wrote a note on the back of the form explaining what my tutor had said, giving them my tutor's name aswell and saying that he told me I'd only have to pay half my fees.

So, do you think they'll nail me for 5700 euro when I should only be paying 3600ish? :S

Urgent help, my mum's stressed beyond belief and I'm on the way to cardiac arrest myself.

Did you 'properly' drop out, notifying the college and getting a document acknowledging what date you dropped out on?

I filled out the proper form when I left college (18th of January 2010), and my tutor informed the senior lecturer that half of my fees would be retained for this year.

Naturally if I get charged full fees I'll just have to go up and sort it out I suppose. Though I included my previous tutor's name so they should have contacted him if they needed to??

If you filled out a form and it was before Jan 31st then you should be grand. epay is probably giving you wrong numbers because you're flagged as someone that previously received HEA funding but they don't have the details yet. It's still giving you the option of paying just the first installment though right? If you're worried about deadlines just pay the first installment and sort it out when you get up there.
