    hey,

just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. My provisional / permit expired a while back but i've had one for a couple of years previous. I want to apply for my full test and also get a new provisional. I need the provisional to take the full test but i think i need the full test date to get the provisional?

Im slightly confused, any help is greatly appreciated

When you apply for the test you should get a letter back pretty quickly that confirms you've applied, you can use this to apply for a new learners permit, getting the new permit should only take a few days to a week (especially if you can drop the application off at you local office), it's unlikely that your test date would be that quick.

But depending on how long ago your license expired (I think it's two years?) you will be starting from scratch anyway, you'll need to apply for a first permit, do the theory test and wait 6 months before taking the test.

You cant apply for a test without the driver number from the learners permit.

Its five years, not two, so the OP shouldnt have to start from scratch.

You can't apply via the website without the driving number, there's been a bunch of threads on this. You still apply by post.
