Read in the paper yesterday that it's owned by the two brothers that own Daft.ie?

I thought it was an independant company owned by the founder (he who shall not be named)

    <_<
    >_>

    (phew!)

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Always amazes me that Daft.ie has such a horribly designed/laid out discussion forum yet they have a significant investment in the most popular discussion forum in Ireland

Last I heard, Devore is really Brian Cowen, and thats how he chills out on a Wed night after a cupla or 15 pints in the Dáil 'free' (subsidised by taxpayers) bar.

Nothing more he likes than to lengthen the auld beer buzz by farting and loggin onto boards as the monsters' daddy.

Nobody owns boards, it's just there to be used as you wish - come along and advertise your business in every post. Or libel well known Irish figures and businesses.

Or at least that's what some eejits seem to think given the amount of people you see in Feedback and Helpdesk harping on about "Free speech on boards? You must be joking, blah blah blah."

Podge & Rodge own it as far as I can tell. Seriously though, as it's a company, it's unlikely to be owned by one person. Daft own part of it, Facebook own another part of it and so on. Tom Murphy used to own it but is now MD as he sold most of it to Facebook. Worst investment ever in Facebook's view I bet.

The next time Boards wins a Webby or a golden spider or whatever awards the irish internet community award itself every year, they should send representatives of After Hours to do the acceptance speech.
