Hi, not sure if this is the right forum, if it isnt could a mod please move it.

Ive got a Packard Bell EasyNote TJ65 running Windows 7 and I regularily connect to my TV, I get great picture but the sound comes out through the speakers in my laptop. This wasnt always the case, it used to play sound and picture through the TV but I think I accidently disabled it.

Can anyone give me any advice as to how to re-enable it?

I have clicked Volume Control Centre and ticked "See disabled devices" and nothing shows up, so im not sure if I did actually disable it.

My laptop does something similar of I have media player or equivalent open when I pulg the HDMI cable in. Resolves for me by closing MP and re-opening the file from explorer.

Plug in the laptop into TV.
Control Panel > Hardware and Sounds > Select HDMI or TV or whatever > "Set as Default"

When you're finished, just select Speakers and you're back to normal.
