Scatt USB Trainer

    Hi all
Time to get rid of my Scatt USB Professional Trainer system.
I got this with all the good intentions in the world, but a fourth child last year put an end to all my plans, and I didn't have a space with a comfortable 5m to spare.
Bought from Intershoot in Jan 09. I took it out, set up and used it for about 1hr. It's been in the box ever since.
    Link as follows; Intershoot Linky

    As it's in completely perfect condition I'm looking for EUR750 + p&p (about EUR15).
I can take some photos if you wish, but my iphone camera is a bit crap :o

Sad to see you selling it bigred, I was hoping you'd come back once v4.0 was out of beta :)

Two questions, possibly answerable by the OP or others:
    1. What's the minimum distance needed for it to work?
    2. Has anyone ever got it to work on a Mac? (even by running Windows in a virtual machine or by dual booting)

He's getting there...very.. very.. slowly. I'll still try to escape the odd Sunday morning for a match in UCD or WTSC.

    1. You'll need 5m for the sensor to register, so a hallway or large room should do.
    2. I never thought to try. I've an iMac with parallels desktop. The usb port replication seems to work just fine for other things I have attached. I just used a cheapo windoze laptop from work with the scatt.

Cool. My longest stretch is ~8m, but I need to leave room for me. :)

I'll have a poke around and see what I can find. In extremis I could probably borrow my better half's netbook, but I can't imagine a 10" screen is much fun with SCATT.

That's a very fair price for as-new condition. If I can figure out a sensible way to drive the system, I'll take it.

Well, if you'd stand up and try some real shooting ;):D

And the SCATT USB can apparently work on a Mac using bootcamp, but not parallels.

I could just about make 10m if I opened my front door and shot from the hall. Unfortunately, the pellet catcher would have to go in the window.

I saw that on another site, but I thought it was due to operator error in getting the virtualisation to release the USB ports to the guest OS. I'm still rummaging for better data though.

Well, you might give virtualbox a go if you can get it to install; on linux it's support is pretty excellent, and if you're not trying to get it to run a mac OS instance on another machine, but the other way round, you might have better luck...

Very suboptimal; but then, you wouldn't be live-firing off a range, would you? ;)

If you're in and around Dublin somewhere, I'm happy to bring it over to you to see if it'll install and connect up OK... Initial setup takes about 20min, so no big deal

Send me a PM and let me know what you'd like to do.

Yep, and I have a Windows 7 install already in a VirtualBox image.

TBH, I think my girlfriend would put a stop to it long before any law would! :)

That might sort it very handily indeed.

Yeah. But only because she'd think it wasn't a real firearm :D

Hello yourself ;). Sorry for taking almost 6hrs to log onto boards again. How can four kids take up so much of my time

    Now, to answer your questions;
    1. Yes, it will print reduced targets. Just tell it the range and print. Ideally, run an AP target in backwards to print on the target paper.
    2. No, it doesnt come with a catcher. It's mainly meant for dry-firing, but I s'pose a very brave person could live-fire
    3. No, I don't have pictures right now but can put some up in a day or so if it's not already sold.

At this point, IRLConor has offered to buy, so he's got first refusal. You can consider yourself next in line if you're interested.
