trackpad button repair

The trackpad button on my early 2008 macbook pro has been dented near the centre so that it seems to be permanently depressed, so I can't use the trackpad and have to use a mouse all the time. Wondering what the best way to go about this is. I obviously need to replace the button but not sure whether to look for parts myself or to leave it into a shop. It is not under warranty and I'm not afraid of opening it up (RAM and HD upgraded by myself). Any advice?
