I had the same issue with Nexus One also.
Is there a way to get the phone to keep a wifi connection open in standby. I generally leave the phone on all the time but one the screen switches off it switches back to data connection. I dont think I should have to leave the screen on constantly to avail of my home networks connection.

Go to WiFi settings, click menu button, Advanced -> Sleep policy -> select Never, done! :)

I also disable the APN when I'm at home, using Quick Settings app in Market.

    Thanks for that.;)
On top of everything else that constant interference with the PC speakers drives me nuts.

Been trying this the last few hours. Although the WiFi seems to hold the connection I still lose internet connectivity after about 10-15 minutes inactivity. The oly way to restore this is to turn WiFi off & on again.
    Any ideas?

Hmm, it happens to me too sometimes, WiFi is still on and connected but resetting it is the only way to get the bits flowing, could be a bug or the router, doesn't happen too often to me though.

I find this problem happens with the new eircom ADSL 2 routers. Wifi will just drop, it's pain in the butt.

Hmm, my (new) Galaxy Europa kept my WiFi all day yesterday, not a single visible disconnection.

It will show as always connected, but if I try to connect to the internet it will time out until wifi is restarted .

Don't Vodafone (formerly BT) broadband connections drop randomly too sometimes? I think I read that somewhere, might be what's happening to me anyway.

I'm not using anyone's router sent to me I have my own Wireless-N Linksys.
