Most of my tooth fell out about 6weeks ago chewing a mint. The root remains still, i didnt get it removed. Last night it started to hurt all of a sudden, not severe pain but noticable.

Should i get it removed? And would this be a sign of an abscess:eek:

It would be a good idea to make an appointment ASAP with your dentist to get it checked out. Depending on the break, the nerves may be exposed which will give you pain, and could lead to infection in the tooth. Also, depending on the break, they may be able to fit a crown, rather than extracting the remainder of the tooth. It happened to me when I broke a lower front tooth a few years ago. And even though I got an appointment with the dentist within 10 days of it breaking (first available slot because it wasn't paining) an abscess had started to form, though luckily I had no pain.
