Question on tax disk and expiration date.

    Hi,

    My tax is up for renewal soon. This will be my first time renewing so I was just wondering something about the dates on the tax disk.

    My tax disk is dated from the start of September 2009. The expiration date is this month (09-10). However they dont actually give a day, just a month. Am I okay to drive on this tax disk until the end of this month? Or do I need to renew straight away?

    One of my parents reckon that my tax is up since the begining of September and the other reckons I'm fine to drive on this tax disk until the end of this month and don't need to renew until then.

    Bit of a simple question but I just wanted to be sure before I took the car out on the road.

    You are taxed until THE END of Sept. You will receive a renewal notice soon!

    Motor tax always runs to the last day of the month.

    As already stated you will receive a renewal notice in the post over the next week or two including a PIN to renew it online at www.motortax.ie once you have a Laser/Credit card.

    Excellent, thanks a million. I heard those notices don't always come though. Never came for the parents cars earlier in the summer. Thanks for the help.
