went to one today in the naul . It was 13 euro in per car:eek: There was a serious difference in price on some of the stalls , my son bought a hen with 4 chicks for 20 euro - not bad me thinks .... my daughter bought a drake and a duck for 20 euro , both happy campers this evening , some of the hens where 30 euro each  , so was thinking is there much money in breeding hens and selling them at these sales

i buy mine for 20 euro for 50 day olds, more you buy cheaper it is, there was money in it alright but not so much now, there is always sale for good laying birds but what makes big money at the sales is rare breeds.. what type of bird was 30

i honestly didnt ask the price of the chicks , the hens that where 30 euro where looked like a bigger version of the rhode island red hens - i am not a poultry expert;) there where also ducks for 120 a pair i didnt see what made them so special
