All that could have been asked of them is that they try their best.

They did that and made everyone in Kildare proud.

A great championship, a great year, lots of great memories A lot to look forward to , thanks for all the hard work all through the winter, resulting in a summer with lots of entertainment for the rest of us, enjoy the break and be prepared to do it all again next year and who knows it might be our year. I too would like to congratulate the Kildare team. They brought hope and happiness to the people of Kildare in this time of economic woe. Luck deserted them in the semi but they never gave up, infact during the whole year when things went against them like the lose of key players like Kelly and Conway, the untimely death of the Legend Dermot Earley snr, this bunch of guys never gave up. You dont need to look to the premiership for heroes, these heroes live in the towns of Athy, Newbridge, Celbridge, Lexlip etc. They are role models for the youth in the county and what it means to represent your community.Hopefully next year Sam will come home and it could nt happen to a nicer and braver bunch of guys. Cill Dara Abu!!

Kudos to Dark-Knight, great thread, I think the lads need our full support and backing over the next year and to give it a lash again cos like Tipp who could easily have given up and not have competed this, they got back in the saddle got back to the grindstone and came back this year fiercer, stronger more determined and more hungrier... and look what happened.... as lillies we are the best supporters in this country and we have will continue to follow them to the four corners of this island in all weather and in all seasons.

We are proud of our history and proud of our lads, Sam will be back home this time next year. Post if you love the lillies

Well done to the lads. They really turned it around since the Louth match and gave us a whirlwind of a Summer. They were so close to an All Ireland final and it is so frustrating to think that they would be there were it not for the incompetence of match officials. It will be hard watching the final now on Sunday week. Onwards to next year now though. Roll on the O'Byrne Cup in January! :D Don't stop believing....

A word of thanks also must go to Anthony Rainbow for 20 years of service. I really hoped he could have retired wth a celtic cross as just reward for a wonderful career but alas it was not be be. A true legend of Kildare football.

Nearly 3 weeks on and I'm still feeling a little raw about Kildare not being in the final. What a great summer it was though :) Thanks to all the team, roll on next year!

Thanks to all the team for some great memories since January!

I'm still gutted over the manner of the defeat and I probably won't be able to watch the final this weekend.

But the entire panel can be very proud of the strides they've made the last 3 years.

Here's hoping for a Delaney next year and with some luck perhaps Johnny, Dermot & the rest of the lads will get the all Ireland they and the fans deserve!
