On mine, the username and password are not set.
I don't have the mms protocol option, and the APN type is set to internet.

check with vodafone to make sure your account is still provisioned correctly before you do anything else. also try using the internet in another phone to confirm it is a handset issue.

my 2.1 settings are like this. try these and see what happens:

    name - vlive
    apn - live.vodafone.com
    proxy - not set
    port - not set
    username - not set
    password - not set
    server - not set
    mmsc - not set
    mms proxy - not set
    mms port - not set
    mms protocol - wap 2.0
    mcc - 272
    mnc - 01
    authentication type - none
    apn type - default

i also have these for mms

    name - vf mms
    apn - mms.vodafone.net
    proxy - not set
    port - not set
    username - dublin
    password - dublain
    server - http://www.vodafone.ie/mms
    mmsc - http://www.vodafone.ie/mms
    mms proxy - 10.24.59.200
    mms port - 80
    mms protocol - wap 2.0
    mcc - 272
    mnc - 01
    authentication type - pap
    apn type - mms

they're the only 2 apns i have on my phone. make sure the check box is selected next to your apn to make it the default one (even though there's only 1)
