Quad/ATV mounted spreader

OK, change of tack. Thinking the trailed spreaders won't suit me. Does anyone have practical experience with the mounted smaller spreaders for quads/ATV? Granulated fertilizer, non granulated lime, and seed would the work I'd have for it, in that order.

Something that would spread a 100 pound weight bag of fert at a time would be fine.

What should I be looking out for, pro's and con's, do I need an agitator (I think) on one for the lime?

Sorry for all the questions lately, just trying to figure a few things out :)

    ATB,

    John

again i see hte ebay lads in Uk selling them, surely too small for fertilizer spreading for any decent sized field, think they might be handy for grass seed though

Well, at the minute everything I spread is thrown on my shoulder, walked uphill, into a bucket and thrown out by hand :(

I'd like to get some lime out onto the land but the thoughts of a great big dirty truck pulling up and tipping the lot and me there with my bucket... You get the idea :D

I've been advised there are a lot of dodgy type spreaders out there so this is a real minefield for me. I don't know about machinery, as we pretty much don't have any.

I'd be delighted with one that will hold a 50kg bag of fert :) spread lime and seed. And do this reliably!

suppose in that case it would be a big help alright, sure maybe see how you get on with quad first before buying, those quad accessories are very dear, personally speaking the best thing i ever got for the quad was a little trailer with floatation wheels, awfal handy for any amount of things form carry fence posts or hay or anything about really, have even brough the odd calf in after being born in it, would be handy for shhep too I imagine if i had any

Yeah a trailer is on my list too.

I really like the look of this spreader under $300 in the USA, €580 here  Haven't yet found anyone willing to ship it over, surely can't cost the difference!
