I know there have been countless threads about how to switch / open your nat settings but i didnt take any notice and now i need to know how.

I'm on nat 2 upnp is available , but when in a party my nat switches from moderate to strick and vice versa.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

isp is munster broadband , the router is one that you cant configure.
Nat is open on xbox live , it may be i need to ring my provider and get them to open the ports that need to be opened.

Is there a restriction on your BB side in relation to have many devices you can have connected? I heard some providers do that.

EDIT - their website is about as useful as a chocolate tea-pot !!

EDIT2 - if your NAT settings are open and fine on XBL, you would assume there wouldn't be an issue with your router config etc. Did you do any router config for XBL? Did you ask support whether they 'support' PSN?

I think that might be the case as when signed into the ps3 it wouldnt allow me sign into live stating that the ip addy was already being used.

he way its set up is that i cant config the router , even though its a router its not if you know what i mean . Its all down from the office , when i first switched over to them i was on strict on live but i told him which ports to open and all that was done.
I have nat 1 on ps3 now but just cant log into both at the same time. No big deal really :)

I assume you have laptop (s) and/or pc's connected also? Do you ever have problems connectivity problems any of those? Just trying to understand the restriction. From a provider point of view, I don't see what they would treat a PS3 or laptop any differently, if it's purely down to the # of devices you can have connected.

I'm guessing but i assume its because i have a static ip for live and not for the pc.

Well the only reason for static IP is so they could configure the port forwarding to a specific host, in this case, its your Xbox.

I'm sure the same could be done for your PS3 and PSN.

There may be some sort of restriction on the router in relation to how many hosts can be 'connected' at any one time - just speculating really but without access to the router, you can't really debug it.

If you manually entered the same settings from your xbox, you likely assigned the ps3 the same static ip address and that's why they both can't be on at the same time.

Manually enter a high ip address in the ps3, something like 192.168.1.200, (it may be 192,168.0.200 depending on the make of your router).

Then if you need to you can either enable UPnP for that address in your router of forward ports manually if necessary.
