Problems using LifeCam VX-3000 for Skype

Hi everyone, Just bought a Microsoft LifeCam BX-3000, but it will not work for Skype. Does anybody use one of these for Skype? All the literature is trying to push me to using it for Microsoft Messenger, but all my pals are on Skype. Any advice?

Take it step by step... First make sure that the webcam is working in Windows.. In Control Panel | Device Manager , you should be able to see whether the webcam has been installed correctly. The probably should be some software that came with it for recording from the webcam which you can use to see that the webcam is available for the system to use..
