Dun an oir Student Accomodation

    Hey im just wondering has anyone stayed in the dun an oir student accomodation before or are currently in it & could they tell me what its like please?! ;)

    Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

    Hey, I am currently living in dun an oir but I actually have to move out tomorrow as I am not a student anymore. The place is modern and generally well kept but you will go crazy with some of the annoyances. The showers are push button showers (ie you push a button and it stays on for about 15 seconds, really annoying), there is only one washing machine and dryer and it costs €6 for a full cycle and the clothes are never fully dry at the end of it no matter how little you put in. The owners don't seem to have a clue what they are doing and can be very bitchy to deal with (although the onsite caretaker is very friendly and helpful). Unless you have a car or a bike it's a 35 minute walk into DCU or 2 buses which can be very expensive. Also the internet is a 7mb connection which is quite fast but it is shared between the whole complex (around 30 rooms I think) so the speed is variable at best. If you put up with these little problems then it's a nice comfortable place to live.

    thanks for that.. push button showers what the fuk??:mad: & wat u mean d owners can b bitchy?any stories 2 tel?..is it good craic to live in?please say yes :confused:
