    Hi,

I've just been given a secondhand flat screen tv by my dads friend. It was previously wall mounted but as I am in rented accomodation I can't really go drilling holes and mounting brackets in this house.

I would prefer to just put the tv on a stand.

Obviously as it was wall mounted the tv does not have the usual 'legs' underneath it to so that it will sit on a stand. Does anybody know where I might get something that would enable me to put the tv on a stand.

    Thanks

Ikea have units that would let you mount the TV to a wooden back which is part of an overall TV/entertainment unit. Plenty of apartment friendly sizes. www.ikea.ie

Most cantilever stands do the trick for this - it's wall mounting without the wall. :D
    See http://www.tvstandsuk.co.uk/acatalog/Cantilever_TV_Stands.html for examples.

I have something similar to this which I got in Currys some time back:

Just make sure that the stand and TV like each other - I had to have little custom metal plates made to adjust mine as the mounting points on the TV were closer to each other than was allowed by the stand.
