Few ferret questions

I was going to post this in the pet section, but figured you lot would probably know more and could advise me better on a good dealer.

Pretty much Im wanting to get myself a ferret. I should probably make this clear now, hes gonna be a pet... he wont be hunting at all.

Having handled ferrets years (and years) ago, Im well aware of the smell. Since hes going to have the run of the house I cant have him stinking up the place. I have heard mixed reviews about getting him snipped, some swore by it, some swore against it. So can anyone 'in the know' give me the low down on it?

If I was to send him for the snip, would any vet be able sort him out, or would I have to get the phone book out?

And lastly, and most importantly, Im in Louth, Dundalk specifically. Can anyone sort me out with a *good* dealer? I was looking on donedeal last night and saw some great ferrets (some free ones too) but not very many locals.

I think any vet will do the job for ya!
Ferrets can be smelly, especially during the breeding season, so i think it would be a good idea to get it neutered if your keeping it indoors!

Would you not consider getting two ferrets while your at it?
A single ferret can get board on its own, especially when there's no one home!
It can be great crack, watching a coupe of ferrets chasing each other around the room, play fighting and pouncing on each other!

Why don't you put a wanted add in donedeal!
Think it only costs three euro, and you won't be long about getting plenty of calls from lads in your area, with surplus ferrets that there trying to get rid of!
