Was wondering does any one know if Kilkenny hospital has one and how good it is!
I am very unfortunate and so far all my babies end up in special care for a few days, I develop GD and need insulin so can mean that baby needs help when born with blood sugars, also I have problems with A to O incompatibility. I want to find out now so if needs be I can change to a hospital .

Also what the normal length of time does Kilkenny keep you in after delivery!
    Thanks in Advance:)

They do have a special care unit. I don't know how good it is as luckily we didn't need it, but the staff there are very good in general. I was only kept in for 36 hours after the birth (my first), was asked if I'd like to stay another night or go home, I chose home. A friend of mine was there for 5 nights after a more complicated birth - I don't think they rush you out the door or anything. I found the staff very open and informative - if you ask the antenatal clinic nurses I'm sure they'll send you up to see the facilities and meet the labour ward nurses so you can judge and decide for yourself.
