Are all Business Studies PGCE courses 14-19?

It seems that all the ones I find are only for the 14-19 age group (manchester, edgehill etc) which would not allow me to teach in Ireland should I choose to return. (as far as I know).

Does anyone have any information on this and what they did, if you did a Business PGCE.

A C grade (GCSE) seems to be required in Math and English.

From what I remember I think I may have only received a D1 in Math. I have a good grade in honours English though as well as a 1:1 degree and a Masters (both in Business management / marketing) and 3 years teaching experience in TEFL in Korea. would any of these counter the lack of a GCSE C grade in math?

Edit: Found one in Bristol, 11-18....but still want to know about the original question anyway.

    Hi Cloneslad,

I am currently applying to the Uni of Warwick to complete a PGCE in Business Education. Did you find out anymore info? I have tried the teachingcouncil of Ireland to try and get info out of them but they won't for love nor money answer any specific questions. They're like politicians.

Any info you have would be greatly appreciated.

In the UK students only study Business Studies from the age of 14. Business is not a major subject in the UK and so the uptake of it is not massive. I trained last year and it is accepted no problem in Ireland. During your placement you will prob be asked to teach ICT as it goes hand in hand and therefore you will get experience in teaching younger students. Did you get a D1 in ordinary or higher? You HAVE HAVE HAVE to receive a grade C in ordinary level otherwise you will not meet the requirements. Some Unis will give you a chance to sit a test before September, its called an equivalance test.
