I'm getting an au pair and because I live in a rural village I think I'll need to get her on to my ins. She's from south america (brazil) has anyone any experience of allowing an au pair drive. I need my car for work etc.. so I'd be sweating it every-time she was out.

Is she licenced to drive in Ireland?

Just put her on as a name driver. If she plans on staying here quite a while then she will need to exchange her license for an Irish license.

She will need an IDP(International Drivers License) because she is coming from a non listed country.

If she plans on staying 12 months or more then
If your stay in Ireland will be more than 12 months you can apply for an Irish driving licence but you will need to go through the full driver licensing procedure. You must first complete a driver theory test, apply for a learner driving permit and complete your driving test in Ireland. If you pass your driving test, you will be issued with a full Irish driving licence.
