    Those prices...

Please, for the love of all that's holy buy this rig from Komplett or Pixmania or HWVS, Elara used to be good but nowadays they're just an overpriced rip-off

sorry guys, was hoping for around 1200 euro. want a large monitor and is pushing up the price a little. Elara have a good price on a benq 27 inch monitor but can see better prices for other bits on pixmania, thought komplett was expensive for gpu and i3 cpu. will do a build maybe with components from elara and pixmaina.

ok a mixture of components from pixmania and elara. Have changed the case to Haf 922. Different motherboard, so what do u guys think, what problems do u see with this build.

You have 8 Gb of different RAM (The OCZ one is incompatible).
You have 3 motherboards (I think)
Go for the i5 instead of the i3, i3's are terrible.
Go for the 1 Gig GTX460 instead of the 5830.
You can get a monitor that's 23" for about half the price.

Had to do this for my own sanity. For future reference, a screenshot will do. Trying to find parts amid a torrent of serial numbers and specs makes me ill.

To add to what VI said above: WTF??!!!!

Gives you ~ €350 to get the Montior/Case/OS of your choice and stay within budget.

Savings: Get 4GB of RAM now and upgrade later unless you really need 8GB. Same with the Hard Drive. You'll have another €132.92 to play with. *cough* i5 *cough cough*

Why go for the i3? The Athlon II's are similarly priced and better.

Me? I was just going like-for-like, to get better prices. AMD would probably be better for this build since the i3's gpu is redundant

    €20 cheaper, but better.

If you want to save €3.50, you can get a bluray/DVDRW drive on dabs.ie for €62 delivered.
Also, maybe go for the 650W XFX PSU. Not as good as the higher XFXs but it should peform close to the HX650 which is supposedly slightly better than the TX.

+1 on the i5-760 and +1 on the XFX. That's the second-cheapest decent 600W+ PSU out there right now, and an incredible price for a slightly-dumbed-down HX650 :D

hi guys thanks for all the help and input. I have gone back and done a mix of componets

Main reason for using elara was for the monitor, wanted a large monitor , and availability of other parts. What do you guys think?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,710 ✭✭✭Monotype

If you're a student or have kids in school, you can avail of discounted windows (software4students.ie).

I've always found elara to have good service anyway. The only thing that bothers me is when something is out of stock you can only click notify me, so you wait for it. Then when it's in stock, something else can be unorderable. I don't mind if it takes a month to get things in stock, but I don't like having to do multiple orders.
