I have 2 dogs, ones a terrier and the other is a cross (sheep dog and collie).

The cross has been here the longest.

I'm writing this as tonight is the 2nd time he's gone to bite me, the 1st time he was successful.

    I don't know why.

The 1st time I think I touched off a sore ear.

This time I went to take something off his coat, got very growly and went for my hand!

The other dog is of bad temprement but not as bad.

    Need help with them.

Only thing i can think to advise you is get, proper advise from a trainer.
Dogs can sense if you feel hesitant.Did you show signs of fear or nervousness towards the dog?Do you feel anxious or waiting for the dog to go for you?

Another thing if you are anyway angry or feeling stressed dogs pick up on that.

First port of call would be a vet. Sounds like he's in pain, a lot of dogs can be very defensive when they are in pain which would explain why he went for you when you touched his ear. What ages are they? Could the collie x be going blind or deaf possibly? If his sight or hearing is going he might just have gotten a fright if you approached him suddenly.

Definetely get him checked out by a vet first and if they don't pick up on anything they might be able to reccommend a good trainer.

Hi. I can certainly see that you have a difficult situation there. Are they rescue dogs? If so, you don't know their background and what they could associate your movements with. I have two rescue dogs myself (only have second one three weeks) and they do have their little quirks. It can take months for them to settle down completely and to fully trust their owner.
I would definitely suggest taking them to socialisation classes. Not only does it help them mix with other dogs but it also helps to build confidence with their owners. However, a good trainer will tell you that you should have a dog for a number of months before you try to socialise/train it as it takes that time for you and the dog to bond.
I would also go along with the suggestion of a veterinary check up as there could be a medical or health problem there.
Let us know how you get on:)

Neither of them are resuce dogs.
One followed my Dad home over a year ago and the other I took off a friend as the house she was in didn't allow pets.

I think on one dog- it's his ear again, it's getting all hot like it was before.

We were given tablets and a syringe thing too, but the dog goes mad as he can smell these things..

Also, when I call him he dosn't really come over to me anymore.

I am the only who tries to instill discipline in them but my parents don't enforce it
