hey guys as most know i have a 9 month old female rottweiler,Anyway for the late few days she has become very nervous and is even nervous goin out the back door,I'm not working at the moment so she is with me most of the time and she is never left outside when we go out OH thought somebody might have hurt her but she is with me most of the time.the only thing different i have done is this week is i started putting her in the boot instead of the back seat when travelling but she was fine and jumps in and out of the boot no probs. i'm just really worried about her now.she was always a cautious dog but never nervous any suggestions as to what i should do?she mixes all the time with my familys and friends dogs

Could anyone have thrown something over your wall into the garden or been teasing her ?

Has she been in heat yet or is she spayed. Sometime before coming in heat there can be mood swings

no is not spayed yet. she hasnt come into heat yet and when she does it will be her first,I'm just worried as a nervous dog can be dangerous maybe i should bring her back to socialization classes again and see if that helps

I would try they socialization classes again, and also try making going outside fun again. Walk out first sometimes to help her along and do something out there, like pull some weeds or hang some washing on the line, just let her get on with things and don't make a fuss.
My dogs both went through a phase of shyness around 8-10 months, and again at around 14 months, there's a year between them but happened around the same time for both. It didn't last long(still there a bit with smaller dog but she's only 15months) and I just reinforced the training and tried to build up the confidence as I did when they were younger.
Do check for anything out of the ordinary, we had a dog develop a fear of going out alone after he chased a young crow and the parents attacked, his fear of crows lasted a lifetime.
A ball getting kicked into the garden, bee/wasp sting, noise of a lawnmower at the wrong time can give them a fright, just try not to make a fuss about it.

Have you checked for a physical problem?
My fella got quite jumpy at one stage, even when touched, I found he had a bit of a sore ear. Once it cleared up he was normal again(well normal for him, he's a bit odd).

At 9 months of age she's probably due to come into season so the changes in hormone levels could have her acting out of character.

Have you checked to see if there's any swelling at all to indicate that she might actually be coming in? Any other dogs paying her a bit more attention when you're out walking her?

When I was getting my Rottie pup the breeder was telling me that he sometimes had problems with bitches losing confidence around a year old, he couldn't explain it. One girl he had passed traffic everyday for nearly a year then one day she was terrified by it and he had to work on building her confidence up all over again. My girl is now 14 months but I haven't experienced any loss in confidence with her luckily, though I've had her in near constant training so maybe that has helped. I would try some socialisation classes or confidence boosting training, loads of praise when she gets something right etc.
