I was planning on having a wedding with a purple colour theme but now we are seriously considering having a music themed wedding.

Has anyone got any ideas or suggestions or advice for me please? We have to make a decision soon enough so as to be able to continue planning.

    Thanks very much guys

Can you maybe tell us more about what you mean by music themed? Like an era of music or a band or something? *have a mad vision of you walking down the aisle dressed as a nun as yer Captain Von Trapp looks on as all the kids walk up ahead singing 'Doh a Deer'.

Although, 'I must have done something good' song in that is tres romantic.

All the bride's side dressed as nun, the groom's as Nazis? Hmmmm

Sorry not helping you at all am I?

Hahaha lilminx... No not quite what i had in mind.

I was thinking maybe going with black and white colour-wise (not gothicy or anything, just kind of classy). Having musical notes incorporated here and there. maybe instead of table numbers, having the tables named after our favourite bands and musicians.
Not entirely sure yet. Any help or ideas would be really appreciated! :)

Oh I get ye now. Right music themed... well yeah the black and white is good, but i'd recommend a cream and dark brown or another dark colour as I think black and white can look very stark. Maybe that old music sheet effect, cream and dark dark red? I'll try and find an image of what I have in mind.

Are you both very musical? play instruments? I'd make more of that than just having random music notes everywhere.. ohhhhhh you could have every table named after duets.. or mash-ups?

Lemme think... Have to say my brain is kinda going to Phantom of the Opera, heavy velvet, lots of candles, old papers (you could do the tea-bag trick) etc. Still not sure if I'm helping?

The old papers idea is really really good. I like that one!

Maybe we can go for a cream and black or something like that... I'll have to find out what exact shade my dress is and then we can work off that.

Yeah, we are both musical. He plays guitar and I sing. I was thinking we could perform a song on the night... but that's not really included in the theme :P

This is really good... You're really helping. Thank you :)
I know what you mean about random music notes around the place... hmmmmm, I wonder.

Have a look at this. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Paper-Look-Old I've used the same technique quite successfully. Just vary the amount of coffee/tea you use to get the right shade. Once they are dry, you could use calligraphy pens and ink to write music on the sheets. It would be nice to use music that means something to you both? You won'd have to fill the whole sheet.. just maybe the first line and say "the rest of the music hasn't been written yet".... romantic maybe?

How about small instruments ? I'm not sure where you would get them, but you could also use lillies and black daliahs ?

Spats. Guys love spats. The black and white gangster ones.
Or for real black and white google the two tone mod/ska era.

Kingofslaves... instruments aren't a bad idea! We were thinking of having table top music stands on each table with the sheet music of a romantic of the musicians the table is named after.
    Clint-Silver... what are spats?
